Statutory Safeguarding Guidance
Fishburn Primary School follows current statutory safeguarding guidance and works in accordance with the safeguarding policies and procedures of Eden Academy Trust.
The following national guidance underpins our safeguarding practice.
Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) is the statutory safeguarding guidance for schools and colleges in England.
It sets out the legal duties schools must follow to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
All staff at Fishburn Primary School read Part One of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026 and receive appropriate safeguarding training and updates.
Working Together to Safeguard Children sets out how organisations and agencies should work together to help, support and protect children and their families.
Fishburn Primary School works with Children's Social Care, the police, health services and other agencies where appropriate to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
Schools have a statutory duty to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism or supporting terrorism.

Fishburn Primary School follows local multi-agency safeguarding arrangements and procedures for County Durham.
These arrangements support schools and other agencies to work together effectively to safeguard children.

Our safeguarding arrangements and policies are reviewed regularly to reflect changes to national and local guidance.
